Special Mission: Starport Assault

Playing with the set of clouds was rather enjoyable, I gotta say.  Just took a couple of shots on the setup and a few in-game shots.  I wanted to show the versatility of the setup, and man, was it great seeing my buddy configure the setup.  I can't believe it never occurred to me to put a bridge directly over one of the clouds, but yeah, it just reinforces the idea that I will only ever have a partial picture of the potential of the things I make.  That being said, the games we played were quite excellent.  We ended up doing 2 games on the special mission list. The setup was perfect for the "Starport" mission, and played really quickly.

Taking a break from the usual Terrain Posts

While I am completing a set of terrain or two, I thought I would provide a little filler.  The vast majority of my battles are against a buddy of mine who plays Tau.  He started playing about a year before the new codex dropped and having played back to back to back games against the yellow shooty wall, I got sick of seeing the same old jump suits in the same old color scheme across the board.  I decided to fix that by gifting a crisis suit to my friend on the stipulation that I get to kitbash it and paint it however I please.  He graciously accepted and about a week later LASER-FEET WAS BORN.

Yeah, silly name, I know, but I wanted to show a Tau model could practically pop with energy and the glowy effect was almost electric.

Tau-crons vs Daemons - Rumble in the Jungle

Had a great game with my Tau buddy this weekend, and because it was the first game of the new year I knew we had to have some fun with it.  I played a Tzeentch Horde bomb list that was completely fluffy and untried, but wow was it a blast.  I just wanted to show off a few of the more dynamic shots from the game, and a few shots that showed off the Jungle pieces I just completed.  Pics as usual after the jump.

Hot Feet! - Desert Terrain Set

I did this set at the request of a friend to have terrain to match his army.  He plays Tau, and thus... Desert Theme!

Made from Foam, both Blue and Polystyrene and the smaller pieces are mounted on CD's covered in sand which have quickly become my favorite basing material.

This set of terrain was a TON of fun to build, but I really wasn't happy with the paint scheme the first go around.  FAR too yellow.  I redid it to much more dulled earth tones, in browns and grays, and then finished it with a light coating of earthy yellows to simulate the desert wind blowing all over everything.  Very sparse vegetation, mostly just small shrubs and brown tufts of grass with a few low cover tiles with a few cacti and succulents.  I think it blends well with my grassland hills and other earth tone terrain pretty well, but eventually it will include sand dunes, and Tau specific buildings and fortifications.
